 John DeRosier of Elton, La., who was chosen to hoist the American flag during the Ranger's commissioning ceremony on August 10, 1957 came full circle when he lowered the ship's commissioning pennant, which was later handed to Capt. Dennis V.McGinn. DeRosier, served aboard the Ranger from 1957-58 as a quartermaster second class. |
