"His spirit can always be felt with a call of The Bosun's Pipe".
You will always be with us, Chief!

| Don
enlisted in the Navy in 1944, was discharged after WWII and returned to the Navy in 1950, retiring in 1970. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois. Don and Lois raised 3 sons, all served in the armed forces. He retired from Civil Service in 1987 and returned to West Virginia, born and raised. Nothing was more important to Don than his family and he loved having them around. The sounds of laughter were very common with the children and grandchildren, quite a full house when everyone came home. When it came to the Navy, Don held the Ranger in highest regard. The USS Ranger was without a doubt, his most beloved duty. He attended a Ranger Reunion in Annapolis, MD. sometime in the 1990's. He was so excited to see people he served with over 30 years before. When you look up the word "Sailor" in the dictionary, you will see this man's picture. "Fair Winds and Following Seas, Dad"- Your Loving Family... |
